A Safer Tomorrow: Chase & Abby’s Habitat Homeownership Story

#HopeBuilders Chase and Abby Haskett began their journey with Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, Missouri in December 2023, driven by a desire to create a safer, more stable future for their two young children. Living in an apartment complex where safety had become a concern, the dream of homeownership once felt out of reach—until they found Habitat.

Through Habitat’s Homebuying Program, the Hasketts committed to 350 hours of sweat equity—volunteering their time to build homes, attend homeowner education classes, and support Habitat’s mission. Now, after completing those hours, they are preparing to purchase their first home with a 0% interest mortgage—making that once-unreachable dream a reality.

🏡 “The idea of being a homeowner was really intimidating to me at first… But now, a year later, after finishing all the requirements, we feel very well-equipped to be homeowners.”

For Chase and Abby, it’s about more than a house—it’s about creating the foundation their children need to thrive.
