In this video, I start my day by showing my Toraja accommodation before meeting my amazing guide Yakob, who takes me to experience a Torajan funeral ceremony – one of the most unique cultural traditions in Indonesia. I was warmly welcomed, treated as a special guest, and even invited to join the family for lunch.

After the ceremony, we visit a Torajan house where families keep their loved ones at home before the funeral – a tradition that is deeply emotional and spiritual. I was honored to be invited into a home where a woman had passed just a month ago.

We then explore cacao plantations, rice fields, and rural Torajan villages, surrounded by stunning mountains and lush scenery. The highlight of the afternoon is Sarambu Waterfall, a peaceful spot that’s perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature.

Before heading back, we stop at more hidden gems and scenic viewpoints across Toraja. It was a long but unforgettable day full of culture, traditions, and natural beauty.
