Teething Pains and Meta Changes

Its time for another round of Warhammer 40k tournament list reviews with a Tau focus. This week was one of the first weeks with the new points update from the Death Guard and Knights points nerfs. The new meta is still in its teething phase as multiple armies vie for dominance in the new arena.

Death guard and Knights are still topping tournaments with some slightly modified lists that still seem to do good. Imperial Knights are waiting on their new codex which seems to make the already good faction even better. I'm guessing once that codex comes out in full there will be another 3 months of Knights at the top of the meta. But who knows.

Genestealer Cults are still doing great with the Host of Ascension lists but a wild Xenocreed Congregation list did well at medium sixed tournament. They are still relying on deepstrike shenanigans and hand flamer spam with some vehicle shooting to back them up. The faction needs more non-character units but that's an edition away.

Thousand Sons are still doing well with Magnus in Grand Coven lists. Rubricae flamer spam seems to be the core outsider of Magnus and the rest is just flavor to taste. Mutalith Beasts and Terminator bricks seem like good choices ad Tzanngors are alright tech pieces.

Black Templars are still doing alright. They arent a meta dominator at the moment but can put up decent results with their roided up Sword Brethren bricks and Emperor's Chanpions can fight the world alone. Their vehicles seem to be the real heavy lifters and Gladius Task Force alongside the +1 o wound Templar Vow are a match made in heaven.

Tau had a great weekend and the standard good stuff lists are flying around. Montka and Kauyon seems to be good and detachment players are making Kroot focused lists work. Crisis Suits still are meh but they are deoing well into the lower toughness meta without Knights stomping around.
