I thought Carcassi studies were simple! This one certainly isn't. He obviously had a sense of humour, listen to the glissando (glissandi??! Will someone tell me the plural of glissando!) at 1.25!
Also, guitarists note the slurring onto the strong beat in the scale runs.. I think this was common in the 19th century, I encountered this in the Giuliani concerto. These days we tend to pluck the strong and slur onto the weak beats.
