Bio:

Dr. Michelle Hill, PhD is a biomedical scientist-entrepreneur on a mission to transform women’s health with innovative biomarker panel-based blood tests, starting with ovarian cancer. After earning her PhD in biochemistry at The University of Queensland (UQ), Brisbane, Australia, Michelle understood postdoctoral research in Switzerland and Ireland, before returning to UQ and starting a family. She initiated a glycoproteomics biomarker research program in her academic laboratories firstly at UQ, and then at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, where she completed the validation and out-licensing of the oesophageal cancer biomarkers. Looking to acquire commercialisation experience, Michelle closed her academic laboratory to undertake an industry fellowship at life science startup Microba in July 2022. With the novel ovarian cancer biomarker project funded by Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (Australia) showing promising results, Michelle established Proseek Bio in Sep 2023 to ensure the research translates to clinical benefits in a timely manner.
