This was a recording we did at our 50th. Anniversary concert in March 2025. The drum salute was composed by Frank Saunders Junior on the occasion of a memorial concert for Frank Saunders senior who was our band's first drumming instructor. Frank Senior was a legend in his day having won solo All Irelands at senior level and having being lead drummer with St.Laurence O'Toole and then Fintan Lalor. Frank Junior took over in New Ross in the late 1970's and we had many fantastic years , winning our first All Ireland in Grade 3 and placing 6th in the Worlds at grade 3A level. Included in our corps that night were a number of New Ross drummers who hadn't played drums since before Covid ( but who have now returned to play full-time) as well many of our past drummers including Shauna Byrne and Fionn Murphy (now playing in Grade 1 with St. Laurence O'Toole's) , Rhona Saunders-Byrne, Ian Saunders, Fiachra Mac Mahon , Frank Saunders Junior, John O'Gorman (nephew of our band founder Pat Gorman) .
