Welcome to the Europe Truck driver channel! Today we are taking a historical detour in Slovenia to discover a town that is the true heart of the nation: Litija. Many of us drive past it, but this is where the dramatic history of transport and industry was written.

Historical Epicentre: Why Litija is considered part of the "Heart of Slovenia" region and how it is connected to the Geometrical Centre of Slovenia (GEOSS).
The Age of Water vs. The Iron Revolution: How the arrival of the railway in 1849 destroyed Litija's centuries-old prosperity as a major river port on the Sava within just a few years.
Metropolis of Zasavje: How the town transformed into an important economic and administrative centre and why it maintained the status of the "Metropolis of Zasavje" thanks to ore mining (Sitarjevec) until 1965.
Visual Gems: The largest meanders of the Sava River, the Church of St. Nicholas, and the Pogonik railway bridge, symbolizing the infrastructural leap.
