Nixer - Outsider

Dublin and London-based Electronic Punk duo Nixer with their latest track 'Outsider'.

The brilliant new Irish duo Nixer share their debut EP, PEOPLE FEEL, out now digitally and available on vinyl June 10th via Blowtorch Records.

It rounds off what’s been a busy spring so far for the duo, made up of Seán Keenan (vocals/guitar) and Gearóid Peggs (beats, production), with appearances at Gold Sounds Festival, The Great Escape, Amsterdam's London Calling Festival and a show at Jersey’s Havana opening for a DJ set by Alan McGee who was enamored by Nixer’s performance. Other notable supporters include Iggy Pop, BBC 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne and Steve Lamacq, Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, BBC Introducing’s Jess Iszatt and Gemma Bradley. This weekend the duo head to Bristol and Nottingham for Dot to Dot Festival and will headline Peckham Audio on May 31st.

Nixer write, record and produce remotely in their DIY bedroom studios in London and Dublin, respectively. The enticing sound of Nixer–built on elements of electronic dance and new wave influences–is in part the result of two contrasting musical backgrounds fusing together to spark a sound so distinct that their fans actually coined the term Éire Wave on a Facebook group to describe it.

Peggs comes from an electronic production background and the sound of artists like Boy Harsher and Boys Noize, bringing those infectious electronic dance shuffles, synths and 808’s to the Nixer sound. On the other side of the coin, Keenan draws influence from the sonic worlds of artists like Alex G, King Krule, Fontaines D.C. and The Stone Roses, pairing his melodic guitarlines and distinctive vocals with Peggs' slick production skills to create this utterly gripping brand of alternative dance music.

‘Outsider’, set at a friend's house party crashed by a few unknown attenders, before moving into ‘People Feel’, a hard-hitting new wave banger set on the club dancefloor as the narrator faces feelings of isolation, confused sexuality, and an overall inability to process their surroundings.
