This video goes through the process of performing an engine oil change on a 2017 BMW R Nine T Scrambler and a reminder reset using the GS-911 diagnostic tool.
Parts List:
Wunderlich Oil Change Kit:

8mm hex
Torque wrench
Oil Filter wrench:

GS-911 (wifi) OBD:

You can also purchase the oil change kit items separately if necessary. Sometimes Wunderlich sells out but you can find the oil from that giant retailer named after the giant yet shrinking rain forest.
Oil: Liqui Moly 4T 15W-50 Street
Oil Filter: Mahle OC306
Crush Washer, AKA Gasket Ring A16x20-AL. BMW Part # 07119963252
First, take your bike for a ride. This warms up the oil, making it less viscous allowing it to drain more completely. Get the bike up on a stand. I like to put something underneath such as an old cardboard box. Then slide your oil catch basin on top of that.
Remove oil filler plug from the right side cylinder head. This will vent the engine to help the oil drain out. Check the condition of the O-ring. The O-ring can be reused if it seems to be in good shape.
Next, come down below the engine and find the oil drain plug. This is a 8 mm hex. Loosen that all the way being mindful to move your hand once the oil starts flowing. Let that drain out completely.
While that's continuing to drain, we'll remove the oil filter. Let that drain out.
So working backwards now, we'll start by installing a new oil filter. I like to wipe everything down that way if there's a leak, I can actually tell if it's a leak and not residual oil from the oil change. The old oil filter will oftentimes leave behind an o-ring seal as it did here. Check to make sure that you remove it from your bike.
Open the new bottle of engine oil, dip in finger, and apply some fresh oil to the new oil filter o-ring and to the threads before twisting it on.
The torque spec for the oil filter is 11 Nm or 8 ft. lbs, but I've found in the past that that's not adequate to keep it from leaking. So I do what I've always done and that's to tighten the oil filter until the o-ring bottoms out, then give it another full turn or so. I want it to feel tight enough that it won't leak, but loose enough that I'll be able to remove it easily next year.
Before we reinstall the drain plug, let's remember to replace the crush washer. This is a ring that's made of a soft metal that will crush slightly to form a seal when tightened down.
Wipe it down and twist the drain plug back in. Then we'll torque that to 32 Nm or 24 ft. lbs. Next let's fill the oil. I'm going to pour around 4 Liters. I'm looking for the oil level to be at the top of the circular window.
So let's put the oil filler plug back on now. I'm just going to go by feel again. Tight enough so it won't leak, loose enough that it won't strip the threads and so that it can be removed easily next time.
Start your engine and run it for two minutes. And after running the engine, check the window again and we can see that the oil level has dropped back down to a normal range.
So when it's time for an oil change your instrument cluster will throw up this wrench icon. It will pop up once a year. To reset this reminder use a GS-911. This device plugs into your bike's diagnostic port located under the seat. It's located toward the right side of the area under the seat and you have to press down on each side of it to release it. Plug it in and open up the GS 911 app on your smart phone.
Locate the Service Reminder in the menu, open up the functions, and then tap Reset service reminder. And I'll set another date for the reminder to come back on. Keeping in mind that you'll want to change your oil about once a year.

Note:
I know that the GS-911 is expensive. I've put off buying it for a long while until recently. So I'm willing to help. If you're in the Los Angeles area, I may consider meeting up with you and using my GS-911 to reset your maintenance light for you. I'm thinking I might charge $30.
