In this video, we demonstrate how the Iron Edison battery management system sends CANBUS messages to the SMA Sunny Island inverter. These messages tell the charger how many amps are allowable and also provide state of charge information directly from the battery to the inverter / charger. This allows for plug-and-play solar to battery installation. Very neat!
