As gravel bikes evolve is the next obvious step a hardtail mountain bike? Canyon clearly thinks so, as its newly updated Exceed carbon hardtail has extreme gravel events on its radar. I took it for a first ride to get my head around where gravel and mountain bikes compare and contrast.
