Meant to fill the gap for eager San Francisco tourists during a long term 1990s Cable Car closure, the F Line has become a useful and cherished part Muni network. In this video, enjoy the ride from Van Ness along Market Street to The Embarcadero outside the Ferry Building on Muni 1058. Originally built by the St. Louis Car Company in 1948, this PCC streetcar started life in the Philadelphia Transportation Company fleet as car 2124 and continued in the SEPTA fleet until 1992. Refurbished by Morrison-Knudsen in 1993 and subsequently by Brookville in 2019, 1058 is decorated in the Chicago Transit Authority's post-World War II paint scheme.
