Helpful Tips for Building a Successful Career in Hydraulic Engineering and Research:
Hydraulic engineering is an exciting career field that offers many unique and challenging opportunities. Whether your particular career path is in consulting, research, or academia, the hydraulic engineering/research field offers opportunities that can be rewarding, both on a personal and a professional level. The path to obtaining a job and building a career can seem daunting while in school; however, if given the proper foresight and planning now, you can set yourself up for continued success down the road. This presentation will provide some helpful tips (learned from past experiences as well as through discussions with colleagues) towards starting and building a successful career in this field. A couple project examples will also be shared to help relate the theoretical information you’re learning in school to real-world situations.
