A UNION query brings 2 or more SQL statements together into one result
This video demonstrates the use of union query. It discusses the required syntax for queries participating in a union. Separate queries - Q1 (the Detail) and Q2 (the Summary data) - are prepared and explained. The SQL view of query design is used to create the union query Q3 which is the combination of Q1 and Q2. This technique with the union query displays employee detail data by month for the year and a yearly total for each employee.
This video has been resurrected from an older Access tutorial series by DataPigTechnologies. Even though Access looks different now, the concepts and functionality persist.
