My frequent paddling partner, Hoan is moving back to Vietnam by the end of the year. One of the touring mission that I had been wanting to do with him was the long distance expedition in the Tonegawa River. This river is so long that we would need two vehicles for transportation. And yes, that is essentially what I needed him for. He was planning to sell his car some time this summer. So, I needed to plan before that. Needless to say, I bribed him with a nice meal for helping me with this. Initially, I wanted to do a two-day camping trip, but it seemed a bit too overwhelming. Plus, Hoan is a busy guy working in civil engineering field, and his time was limited. We chose a date in early May during Golden Week, one of Japan's biggest holiday periods...
