So a septum piercing is a nose piercing that sits pretty much in the middle of your nose, in the sweet spot. Piercers call the soft tissue piece the sweet spot, not because this part of the nose is sweeter, but because it should hurt less. By the way, there is a noseful of options of jewelry for this.

Ouch, does putting a septum piercing hurt?
It does look painful, such a needle in your nose, but it's not always so. The pain will vary from person to person. You will shed some tears, though. Make no mistake about it! These tears are not from the pain, maybe from happiness? But it can also be your natural reaction. On the face of it, it will not hurt much if your piercer pierces it properly through the sweet spot.

Healing period and aftercare septum
The healing period will be, like a cartilage piercing, around 6 - 9 months. This depends on the person themselves and everything around you like your personal health and stress. Also, be careful! An extra tip: Be careful when blowing your nose. Especially in the winter you will often have a runny nose. By moving your piercing too much, the septum piercing gets irritated. You really don't want that, especially on top of such a cold.
