Raj Bhavan in Karnataka is the official residence of the Governor of Karnataka, located in Bengaluru.
It was built by Sir "Mark Cubbon"between 1840 and 1842 as the British Commissioner's residence, it was later converted into a state guesthouse and eventually became the official home of Karnataka's Governor.
The building features a mix of colonial and Residency styles, with a single storey initially, and a first floor added in 1967. It boasts an iconic colonnade porch, pilastered(ಮುಖಶಿಲ್ಪ) bay windows, deep moldings, and cornices.
Recently, Raj Bhavan was open to the public for three days (August 16-18, 2025) as part of Independence Day celebrations. Visitors could explore the gardens and colonial architecture, but strict security measures were in place, prohibiting electronics and bags.
