Giant Arabian Deathstalkers / Shield-Tailed Scorpions

Searching for Shield-Tailed Scorpions (Apistobuthus pterygocercus) in the sand dunes of northern Oman.

05:52 - During this segment, you might notice that I spliced in footage of an entirely different individual. There were some issues with the quality of some of the original footage, so I had to shoot some more.
10:31 - This was an incredibly poorly explained point. Of course... all animals eventually die in captivity. What I meant was that juveniles do not survive to adulthood and as such, generations do not turn in captivity either. The cause of this is thought to be related to specific humidity gradient requirements since the molting process is what results in death.
