Another bell ringing video, this time from the magnificent Gothic Revival St Mary's Church in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. This church is not the original, it was built in 1871 by Sir George Gilbert Scott, and the tower of the old medieval church can be seen in the churchyard. The bells however are a 27cwt Ring of 10 tuned to D♭ (although in the belfry, I confused them as D). These can be a bit tricky to handle at times. They were restored and recast in 2016. The bell I am ringing in the ringing room footage is the 7th (although all you can see of me is my butt.....again). I tried ringing the 27cwt Tenor, but I think I bit off more than I could chew.... :/
Also of interest, this tower has Yorkshire Tail Ends, like at Kildwick, Otley and Bingley. You can see them in the video
