Grant Cardone: New York Times best selling author is here today to talk about traveling light.

Grant recently did a trip with a buddy to Las Vegas for a sales convention seminar. Before leaving on the trip Grant sent a text to someone that was also attending the Sales convention and asked him if he was checking any luggage for the flight to Las Vegas. Grant's friend said that he was only bringing carry-on luggage but when they arrived at the airport Grant found out that his friend brought a bag with him that was too big.

Grant has flown over 3 million miles and he is on his way to New York to meet with some executives at Fox and he only brings a small bag with him that holds everything he needs in it.

Let's do an inventory of what is inside of Grant's carry-on bag: There's one suit (Grant is wearing the jacket). There's a pair of pajamas, one additional shirt, one extra pair of socks. The shoes that Grant is wearing are going with him and that's it! The bag weighs about 4 pounds.

Why is Grant telling you this? Because right now in this economy you need to be working harder, pushing harder, going more places, getting in front of more people. Don't be all tied up with what you're wearing because no one is going to be paying you based on what you're wearing. It doesn't matter if you have the perfect jacket on or the perfect shit. What matters is that you're showing up.

Someone asked Grant how he can travel so light and Grant said it's because he has self-esteem. Grant also has his priorities lined up. Grant's priority is to go somewhere and do a great job, it's not to look good.

The point Grant is making here is that you have to roll hard and fast . The main thing right now is to push to the next place and that's what you have to be doing right now. You have to be pushing. Don't get caught up in superficial things that do not pertain to your skill level. Nobody cares about how you look. You have to show up and you have to be great! It's great if you can look great on top of all that, but at the end of the day you gotta show up and you have to be great. Go get it.
