Rooted in her upbringing in rural England, it is in parts unapologetically old fashioned - think chintz, scallops and frills - while also calling upon a wide frame of contemporary references, from Americana to Japanese restaurant design. Our aim was to create a series charting the journey of a house over a period of years, to reassure people decorating their own homes that it doesn’t happen overnight. That creating a layered, interesting interior is something that happens in stages, and that those stages aren't always linear or smooth.
