The locking jack is great for live musicians, so that they can't accidentally pull out the jack if they step on the cable. To remove it you need to press the red pin first and then pull it out. On my unit however it was particularly stiff as you can see, and it always required both hands to remove the jack.
Since I only play at home I found this feature to be a bother, so I removed it.
