This is the first of 7 videos in a 4,350-mile (7,000 km) self-supported bicycle journey across the United States, riding from coast to coast.
I prepared for this long-distance bike tour in Germany, where I live, and began the journey in Newport, Oregon, where I lived before. From the Pacific Coast, I start riding east, beginning my bicycle journey across America.
This episode follows the ride from Newport, Oregon to the Coeur d’Alene Trail in Idaho, showing daily life on the road, changing landscapes, and the experience of bicycle touring in the USA.
