Have you ever wanted to see how aircraft take off at the South Pole? There are not many aircraft in the world that are equipped with the essential gear that can land and take off at the South Pole Station.
Aircraft That Can Take Off and Land at South Pole:
DHC-6 Twin Otter
Basler BT-67
LC-130 Hercules
Those three are the only aircraft that regularly take off and land at the South Pole Station in the Antarctic Summer. All of them bringing people and equipment needed to keep up the science projects that run year round.
