Singapore’s Lesser-Known Freight Railway - Jurong Railway

Jurong Railway is the former railway that once was carried the freight between Jurong Port and Malaysia.

With the length of 19 km, the railway was located between Bukit Timah and Jurong Industrial Estate, this freight rail transported the cargo between 1965 and 1993.

Why was Jurong Railway abandoned after being in operation for 27 years?
