Pruning Mahonia. Tips and advice about pruning this beautiful evergreen shrub that lights up the garden in winter and attracts both bees and birds. This shrub can take hard pruning really at any time of year but keep in mind that if you prune it just after flowering you are going to lose the fruit which is so necessary for the birds at a time of year when there is not much else going on. Once established the shrub is drought tolerant and is very low maintenance.
