In this workout, we're going to focus on the legs, which are some of the biggest muscles in our bodies. Building strength in our legs will help us with everyday tasks like walking, climbing stairs, and getting up from a chair. Plus, having strong legs can reduce the risk of falls and injuries, which can be especially important as we get older.
We'll be doing a combination of exercises that are perfect for older adults who want to exercise at home and build muscle after the age of 50 or 60. You don't need any fancy equipment to do this workout, just a chair or sturdy surface to hold onto for balance.
Some of the exercises we'll be doing include squats, lunges, leg raises, and calf raises. I'll be demonstrating each exercise and providing modifications for those who need them. It's important to listen to your body and only do what feels comfortable for you.
