For ultra active outdoorsman Tom Seibert, the bionic i-limb revolution hand is the most lifelike prosthesis he's ever worn. He was a high school senior when a wakeboarding rope wrapped around his wrist and his left hand had to be amputated. Since 2006 Tom has worn a wide variety of prosthetic hands including basic body-powered hooks, myoelectric greifers, and custom devices for weightlifting, lacrosse and swimming. But the i-limb revolution is the first bionic hand he's used that has multi-articulating fingers, a thumb that rotates automatically, and 24 grip patterns with a mobile app for programming. All that and it looks cool too. As Tom says, it's the little things he can do with the i-limb that make the difference—holding his wallet at the ATM, opening a door, driving with both hands.
