✨ Aham Shivoham – The Nondual Mantra of Oneness ✨
Who am I?
Am I only this body… or this passing mind?
If the body changes, and the mind changes, then what does not change?
Is there something silent, always here, watching all experience?
This mantra begins from that question.
Aham Shivoham means “I am Shiva.”
Not a person.
Not a god outside.
Shiva here means pure awareness.
Unborn.
Unchanging.
Consciousness itself.
So if consciousness is always present, can it have a boundary?
Does it stop at the skin?
Where does it end?
Or does it hold all forms within it?
When we say Aham, we say I Am.
Not “I am this” or “I am that.”
Only the clear “I Am.”
Like a flame with no smoke.
Like space with no walls.
This is the heart of Advaita Vedanta:
The Self is one
There is no second
The divine lives as all beings
But if this is true, then what about Buddha?
What about Christ?
What about Brahman, or Shunyata?
If the Self is one, then the names are many.
The ocean is one, the waves are many.
So the mantra sings like this:
Aham Shivaḥ – I am the auspicious Self
Aham Buddhaḥ – I am the awakened space of mind
Aham Christaḥ – I am the light of love
Aham Brahma – I am the absolute
Aham Śūnyatā – I am the vast emptiness
And every verse answers the same question: If all forms appear and disappear, what remains?
So the chant reminds us: “Sarvam rūpam, sarvam śūnyam, aham sarvatra.”
All forms, all emptiness, I am everywhere.
Not as a person.
Not as an ego.
But as the silent witness of everything.
When the voice of NirvanDas sings it, it becomes simple: No preaching.
No promise.
Just the sound of Being itself.
Use it for:
》Deep meditation
》Breath awareness
》Inner silence
》Nondual reflection
》Chanting and kirtan
》Emptiness meditation
》“I Am” remembrance
And maybe ask yourself: If I am not my thoughts, and not my emotions, and not my changing body…
Then who am I?
This is the whole path. Not belief.
Not theory.
A direct seeing.
