Federal investigators say self-proclaimed apostle David Taylor and his associate Michelle Brannon exploited followers under the guise of religion, raking in over $50 million through forced labor and psychological abuse.
The duo, tied to the Kingdom of God Global Church, allegedly recruited vulnerable individuals across the U.S. to work as unpaid phone solicitors under strict quotas. According to the indictment, those who didn’t meet donation goals faced punishment, including physical and emotional abuse.
Court records show the money was funneled into a lavish lifestyle — including luxury cars, a $9M Florida mansion, and even $10,000 worth of seafood. FBI raids in Florida and North Carolina led to the pair's arrest.
