When we go about designing our Star Trek jackets, we take great inspiration from the uniforms you see on the show, but those were not created with daily wear and functionality in mind.

One of the most obvious differences is that the on-screen uniforms don’t have any visible closures or hardware. This makes for a very clean and futuristic look, but makes it impossible to get in and out of the uniform without help from a wardrobe department.
A difference in color and material is also a key factor. For a jacket that you’ll be wearing in your everyday life you want a comfortable and durable material in a color palette that is wearable and pairable with clothes you already have.
