Soldiers for Israel | VPRO Documantary

Why do thousands of Christians travel to Israel to support the army, despite the war crimes it commits in the Gaza Strip? In a new, revealing episode of 'Frontlinie', journalist Bram Vermeulen unravels the international network behind this support. Frontlinie gains exceptional access to soldiers in the Israeli army, speaks to those who regret their actions, and meets Christians who want to dedicate themselves to the fate of the Palestinians.

Bram travels to Israel and the Palestinian territories, where he investigates the global Christian movement that supports the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip. He gains rare access to Israeli soldiers involved in the daily operation in Gaza and speaks to Christians who come to Israel from all over the world to encourage and facilitate them.

Their support ranges from preparing meals and making music to giving massages to soldiers before they return to Gaza. Bram also meets Christian volunteers who are working the land along the Gaza Strip, in places where Palestinian workers used to work until October 7, 2023. They're gardening while the bombing and gunfire in Gaza are clearly audible. He also speaks with Israeli soldiers who regret their actions and shows how Christian organizations that want to support the Palestinians are increasingly being thwarted.
