The worst thing that I ever did was to compare my autistic son’s developmental milestones

As a mum to my amazing 12-year-old autistic son, I’ve learned that every child’s journey is beautifully unique — and so is every parent’s. In this video, I open up about the challenges and lessons I’ve faced in letting go of comparison: comparing my son’s progress to others, comparing our story to what I thought it “should” look like, and comparing myself to other mums.
When we stop measuring our lives against others, we create space to truly celebrate our children for who they are — not who the world expects them to be. 💙
Whether you’re a parent of an autistic child, a caregiver, or simply someone learning about neurodiversity, I hope this message reminds you that joy grows when we embrace individuality, acceptance, and unconditional love.
👉 In this video, I talk about:
• The emotional impact of comparison on parents and children
• Learning to celebrate small victories
• Understanding autism through love and patience
• Finding joy and peace in your unique journey
✨ Let’s support each other and raise awareness about autism, acceptance, and the power of perspective.
