Is this really Europe’s most insane hike? We take on the 20KM trail from Žabljak to the top of Bobotov Kuk (2,523m) — the highest peak in Montenegro. This challenging route through Durmitor National Park isn’t the easy way up… it’s a full day adventure that tested us every step of the way.

From steep climbs and rocky ridges to some of the most breathtaking alpine views in the Balkans, this brutal hike is as rewarding as it is exhausting. Reaching the summit of Montenegro’s highest mountain was one of the toughest and most unforgettable experiences of our travels so far.
