I have seen several ways to tighten the loose limbs on Kenner Star Wars action figures - everything from a brush on liquid that is supposed to fill the gap to teflon tape. I have used the latter with success; however, it doesn't always stay in, especially when a child plays with the toy, as my son does with the vintage figures.
My method is very simple, but you need specific materials to do the job:
Step 1 - Use strip or rod styrene plastic, heat it up with a hair dryer, then wrap it around the loose joint.
Step 2 - Drip liquid styrene plastic glue into the joint where the new plastic is. The glue begins to dissolve the thin plastic, making it adhere/smear onto to the Kenner ABS plastic.
Step 3 - Rotate the limb, pressing it into the body, thus compressing the styrene plastic.
Step 4 - Wait for it to dry.
Materials:
Strip or rod styrene .25-.50 mm
Hair dryer
Bent nose pliers
Liquid styrene glue (not tube type, but the brush on type)
