This video shows how I built the @MicroJig 360 Sled that includes the @Kreg Miter Fence.
I really like both the MicroJig 360 Sled and the Kreg Miter Fence products, but both of them have limitations. Combining the two together provides the best of both worlds.
These are the steps to build the sled that are detailed in the video:
1.) Select your material
2.) Determine your sleds dimensions
3.) Decide where to plow your dovetail grooves
4.) Plow relief grooves
5.) Plow dovetail grooves (except for the channel that holds the T-Track)
6.) Determine where to mount your MicroJig ZeroPlay
7.) Drill holes to mount the ZP
8.) Loosley mount the ZP to the sled
9.) Square the sled to the Rip Fence
10.) Trim the sled to make it zero clearance
11.) Plow the channel for the T-Track
12.) Glue the T-Track in place
For this build I used the ruler on my Rip fence to make cuts and to plow the relief grooves and T-Track channel. The only time I used a tape measure is when I had to measure 4" between the holes used to mount the ZP to the sled itself. Other than that you really don't need a tape measure.
What can I say, I like making things the EZ way!
Please let me know what you think about my build. If you build something similar please tag me so I can admire your work too. One of the best things about working for MicroJig, in the past, was I got to chat with their customers about the stuff they built. I hope to be able to continue to hear from you guys about your builds, thoughts, and challenges that need solving!
Have an Ordinary Day...
