Deep fakes and use of AI are becoming more commonplace as a way to spread misinformation and disinformation. Explore how this impacts our trust in the news and the outcome of political elections.
Panelists include Pulitzer Prize winner and former Editor at the Washington Post Dr. Patricia Weems Gaston of KU, Oscar Stauffer Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at KU Hyunjin Seo, former Editor with over 30 years of experience in newspapers and current Lecturer at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at KU Gerri Berendzen, and Editor in Chief of the Kansas Reflector Sherman Smith. This discussion will be moderated by Brad Allen, Executive Director of Lawrence Public Library.
