In this challenging industry full of so much talent, so many dancers focus only on 𝗛𝗢𝗪 they’re going to achieve want they want. ✅ Of course, having a vision is crucial. But for this masterclass, I wanted everyone in the room to have the opportunity to 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝙒𝙃𝙔 💡…because that’s where the 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗹 of our passion truly is. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙗𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙡𝙚. 🦋 It’s what will bring you back to yourself when you forget that 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯. 💯

That’s why for this masterclass, I wanted to bring back this choreo to Janet Jackson’s “Made For Now.” I’m telling you, I can just 𝙁𝙀𝙀𝙇 my spirit shining and smiling when I’m dancing this choreo, and 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙤.
🫶🏼💘🫶🏼 I want to remind them how 𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 dance feels to the soul. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲. 💁🏼‍♀️

Don’t get me wrong, in this class, and in all of my classes, we take professionalism seriously, and 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀. ☝🏼 Of course, I take every chance to remind my students that we should ALWAYS work hard for our goals, and 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲.🫀

But for me, what keeps that going, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁… is a genuine and unwavering love for how 𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 dance can feel when you let it. How 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗬 it allows us to celebrate community and freedom to just be. And to remember that …𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘁. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝘆. 🪴💦💐 And that’s exactly what we did in this class! 🔥😍
