Surviving A Sinking Boat In Papua New Guinea Is CRAZY Hard

In this episode of my Papua New Guinea adventure, I take a 170 km small boat ride across the Pacific Ocean from Vanimo to Aitape – a journey that is not only challenging but also dangerous. Roads in this part of PNG are unsafe due to frequent robberies, so the only option was a 4–5 hour boat ride through rough ocean waves. With all my valuables (passport, MacBook, camera gear) on board, every high wave felt like a life-risking moment.

After reaching Aitape, where no hotels are available online, I was fortunate to be welcomed by a local man I met on the boat. He invited me to stay in his remote village. Life there is simple – no electricity, no internet, only small solar panels – but the people’s warmth and hospitality truly touched my heart.
