If your Ferrari 360 F1 clutch is slipping, engaging slowly, or wearing faster than expected, the PIS (Point of Initial Slip) may need to be adjusted. In this video, we show how to properly set and fine-tune the Ferrari 360 F1 clutch PIS to reduce unnecessary clutch slip and help extend clutch life.
Correct PIS adjustment is critical after installing a new clutch and is also required when upgrading to a Challenge Stradale TCU in place of the original Ferrari 360 TCU. Without setting the PIS correctly, the F1 system can over-slip the clutch, generate excess heat, and cause premature wear.
We walk through the process using a diagnostic scan tool, explain what the PIS value actually represents, and show how to safely dial it in without causing clutch drag. This applies to the Ferrari 360 Modena, 360 Spider, and Challenge Stradale equipped with the F1 transmission.
This DIY guide is intended for Ferrari owners and enthusiasts who want to understand how the F1 clutch system works and set it up correctly after repairs or upgrades.

** Manual PIS entry begins at p/n 189542 (VIN ≈ 124874, 2001). Earlier units use crude “PIS autoset.” **
** PLEASE understand this before adjustment takes place. **
** !!! BE ABSOUTELY SURE your input shaft speed is zero once you're done setting the PIS value and you have no creep forward in 1st gear or reverse on a flat surface after setting your PIS values when cold or warmed up. If not, this CAN result in synchro damage quickly if left like this which can ultimately lead to a transmission rebuild if left as is. !!! **

When/If you pickup the Foxwell NT530, Please note you'll have to buy the Ferrari diagnostic module and install it on the SD card that the unit comes with. This will allow you to use the scan tool to talk to all the modules on the Car including the F1 system and both ECUs and others as well! VERY good alternative to some of the other aftermarket scan tools out there.
