After spending the morning of June 3, 2009 pruning away and chipping the branches, workers fall the remaining trunk of a maple tree on Kevin Standlee's father-in-law's property in Mehama, Oregon. They would later slice the trunk into shorter sections suitable for eventual splitting into firewood. The metal pole visible at the base of the tree is a fence post around which the tree had grown, slightly complicating the tree's removal.
