Crate Amp Test Drive

There are some Crate amps I like a lot. This one has a decent clean sound and I always like a little spring reverb. Not sure what to make of the distortion channel. The EQ is kind of strange on this. Pretty harsh tone. Not making me feel comfortable at all. I'm not liking that someone removed the ground from the power cable end. On top of that I'm a little grumpy and tired so maybe I was a little negative. Hard to blame me as I am more used to vintage Fender amps or Marshalls. Any decent amp with tubes I can tolerate. These were from an era when kids were thrashing Metallica in guitar stores which is a good thing I suppose but it pierces my ear drums so this amp reminds me of that. It would be great for a beginner and we'll probably donate it to a kid who shows promise and needs an amp and is on a lower budget.
