Mal’Akh is a project founded by the multilaureate Mexican composer Felipe Perez Santiago. The music of Mal’Akh is originated from the integration of acoustical instruments with electronic resources such as samplers, pre-recorded tracks, rhythm programming and live processing, obtaining an eclectic sound that combines tradition, avant-garde, folklore and elements of contemporary music, rock, free jazz and improvisation. Considered one of the most propositive and state of the art projects in the Mexican musical scene, “Mal’Akh” defines itself as a meeting point between different cultures, musical genres and artistic disciplines, always on the search for new sounds and collaborations that could enrich their work and creative process.
