Pius Munyafu Ologi aka Khoi Asai

Sickness:
Asayi, as he was fondly known, rarely got sick. He first got sick in 2019 and was admitted at St. Paul's Hospital in Homabay, and then to AGHA KHAN HOSPITAL in KISUMU where he was diagnosed with Liver Disease. Asayi got well and continued with his life normally but was in and out of the hospital.
In 2023, he was again admitted and treated at the Agha Khan Hospital Homabay where he responded well before he was discharged.

In February 2024, he was admitted he was attended to at OASIS SPECIALIST CENTER Homabay then admitted at St. Paul’s Hospital under the care of a liver specialist.
His condition worsened on 24th march and he succumbed on 29th march.
RIP.

Education:
Mzee started his education at Uozi Primary school initially but dropped out due to lack of school fees in 1962.
Being an orphan, he left Mfangano Island for Nairobi to stay with his brother in law, the late Orebo Maga.
While in Nairobi, he was a guitarist and came back to the island after two years and joined the fishing industry.
Together with his friend Barua Mazigah, they built a boat known as Kiwanuka that they used for fishing.
He left fishing after one year and went to kinya kodiembo in kanyidoto maranga who was his Grand father to be blessed with his grand fathe’s traditional treatment( healing.) since 1970 , Khoi has fondly known became a renown herbalist both in Kenya and abroad.
Marriage Life:
In 1964, he married Eunice Atieno Mumy, who is the daughter of the late Petro Obora of Waregi clan of Kaksingri and the late Margaret Acholla of Wakula, Nyauki clan in mfangano island. They were blessed with six children; the late Grace Auma, DR. Tobias Khoi, ACC Washingtone Khoi, Hellen Area, the late Florence Akinyi and Jepherson Khoi.
In 1984, he married his second wife, Monica Auma, the daughter of the late Amollo Omwombe of Waregi clan, Kaksingri and Nyagunga of Kanyamwa and were blessed with three children; the late Sarah Khoi, Kennedy Ouma (Dashy) and the late Omondi Khoi. .
Other children are Nevin Khoi.

Step sons and daughters:
Makawala, Jepherson, Julius, Joash, Joyce, late Ouma, late John, late Titus, Eunice, Joyce, Dorina, Ajwang among others.
