"La forza del destino" (The Force of Destiny) is an Italian opera by Giuseppe Verdi. The wonderful recording of Leontyne Price in the role of Leanora in Verdi’s “La forza del destino” is nothing short of captivating. The famous aria “Pace, pace, mio Dio!” appears in the scene when there is a duel between her love Alvaro and her brother Carlo. Leonora, hoping for a peaceful death, tells Alvaro she loves him and begs God for peace.
This is my list of the top sopranos of the 20th century. Please note, this is only my humble opinion! Enjoy this great recording.
