Our TLC program nomination for 2023 South Australia Public Education Awards | The Song Room

We were honoured to be one of the finalists in the 2023 South Australia Public Education Awards! The Song Room collaboration with the South East Coast and Vines Partnership across 10 schools and preschools, was recognised in the SA Public Education Awards in the ‘Excellence in Collaborative Partnerships’ Award category.

The Song Room's “Transformational Learning through Creativity” program over the last 4 years has extended educators' understanding of music while also positively impacting the social and emotional well-being of children, nurturing their executive functioning and self-regulation skills. The Department for Education sites are spread across the lower South East region from Penola, to Glencoe, Millicent, Beachport, Robe and Kingston. Recently the Bunganditj Language and Aboriginal Language Awareness has been incorporated into songs and stories, ensuring work across the partnership is interconnected and relevant for learners.

Congratulations to the Department for Education Principals and Preschool Directors and Teaching Artist Scott Maxwell, whose collaborative efforts have made this partnership possible.
