아일랜드의 영원한 시인이자 작곡가인 필콜터가 어린 시절을 회상하며 작곡한 곡으로 연주곡으로 더 잘 알려져 있죠. 전반부는 단순히 어린시절 회상, 후반부는 종교와 내란으로 인한 비통함, 끝맺음에는 고향을 사랑하며 밝은날이 오기를 기다린다는 희망의 메시지가 담겨있죠. 더 더블리너스(The Dubliners)는 1962년에 조직된 아일랜드의 포크 음악 그룹으로, 맴버 루크 켈리(Luke Kelly)는 1984년 타계하였어요.
