1. Pehale magan Sītā māngelā jav Bidhi (Vidhi) puravāi ho. (2)
Sītā mānge Ayodhyā ke rājā Sarajū (Sarayū) jal achhā vahī ho. (2)

2'.Dusare magan Sītā māngelā jav bidhi puravāi jav bidhi puravāi ho. (2)
Sītā mānge sasur aisan Dasharath Sarajū jal achhā vahī ho. (2)

2.Dusare magan Sītā māngelā jav bidhi puravāi jav bidhi puravāi ho. (2)
Sītā mānge Purush Bhagavaan Sarajū jal achhā vahī ho. (2)

3. Tisare magan Sītā māngelā jav bidhi puravāi, jav bidhi puravāi ho. (2)

1. Pehalī mangan Sītā māngaile javan Bidhi puravaile ho. (ṛāūī)
Sītā māngele Ayodhyā ke rājā Sarajū (Sarayū) jī ke darashan ho.
Sita makes her 1st wish - may Brahma fulfill it. Sita wishes that she
may see the kingdom of Ayodhya and the venerable river Sarayu.

2. Dusarī mangan Sītā māngaile (mānge) javan Bidhi puravaile ho.
Sītā māngele Kausilyā aisī sāsū (sās) sasur rājā Dasarath ho.
Sita makes her 2nd wish - may Brahma fulfill it. Sita wishes that she may
have a mother-in-law like Kaushalya and a father-in-law like Dasharath.

3. Tisarī mangan Sītā māngaile javan Bidhi puravelā (purave) ho.
Sītā māngele (mange) Purush Bhagavān devar bābū Lachiman ho.
Sita makes her 3rd wish - may Brahma fulfill it. Sita wishes that she may
have a husband like Bhagwan Ram and a brother-in-law like Lakshman.

4. Chauthī mangan Sītā māngaile javan Bidhi puravelā ho.
Sītā māngele god ke balakavā angan bhar khelae` ho.
Sita makes her 4th wish - may Brahma fulfill it. Sita wishes that
a child of her very own (from her lap) may play in the courtyard.

5. Milahu na sakhiyā sahelarī mili juli chalau ho.
Sītā kaun bidhi kar leyau Rām bar pāyāu ho.
Gather up, companions, gather up - come and ask, what kind of
observances did Sita perform to get Shri Ram as her husband.

6. Maghāi mās nahānī agan nahī` tāpe agin nahī` tāpai ho.
Sakhi barat rahyau` paraivā Rām bar pāyāu ho.
"Bathing in the cold month of Maagh (Jan.-Feb.), I did not warm myself by a fire.
I kept fast on the 1st day of the lunar fortnight to obtain Shri Ram as my husband."

7. Milahu na sakhiyā sahelarī mili juli chalau ho.
Sītā kaun kavan tap kar leyau Rām bar pāyāu ho.
Gather up, companions, gather up - come & ask, what kind of
austerities did Sita undertake to get Shri Ram as her husband.

8. Barat rahyau` ekādasī aur duvādasī bar pāyāu ho.
Sakhi tulasī ke diyanā jalāyau Rām bar pāyāu ho.
"I kept fast on the eleventh day of the fortnight and on the twelth day, again.
Companions, I offered a light to the holy basil to obtain Shri Ram as my husband."

9. Je yahi mangal gave aur gāy ke sunāve ho.
Sakhi, Tulasīdās bhali ās amar phal pāvai ho.
Whoever sings this auspicious song and causes it to be heard, companions,
says Tulsidas - there is good hope that they will attain the fruit of immortality.
