Now this one was hellish to edit. Not only did I aim to bring in more detail into this video than I had in my previous ones but I also had to create more assets from scratch. I obviously took stills from the game's cutscenes to preserve an authentic feel but had to edit a lot of frames manually to create the various mouth shapes, animations etc. Needless to say, it was a lot of work and was very daunting and time-consuming. Though overall I believe the video turned out good.
I created my own 'title screen animation' as well. Although I was a bit torn between adding it into the video after all, I decided to just roll with it. And a little 'FMV sequence' was also added for good measure - made from repurposed trailer material from like 2004 when the game came out. It's nothing overly fancy but probably still pretty neat.
Since this video consists of two games that cover the same story/adventure from slightly different points of view, I wanted to include everything. That meant I would have to slightly re-write dialgue to accommodate the Crash version and the Spyro version of each line affected. I also tried to balance the choice of music and take an equal amount from both games. In that same vein, I found a nice remix of boss theme which I then worked into the final boss fight (unfortunately it's rather short-lived). I have to thank everyone who helped get through some of the more stressful times recently (my bachelor's thesis, limitations due to Corona...) because otherwise just pumping all my time into this video would've driven me insane. Major thanks to April Peach Lirpa Hcaep!
