Mong Kok is a station on the Kwun Tong and Tsuen Wan lines.
The station opened on December 31, 1979 (Tsuen Wan line services started on May 17, 1982).
Fun Fact: Located above the concourse escalator (3:05), "Like Water" is a three-dimensional sculpture made of stainless steel and copper. Working between Western sculptural techniques with Chinese woodcarving, New York-based Chinese artist Liao Yibai made the piece as an homage to the principles of Chinese martial arts and philosophy. The piece was created using complex techniques, employing Western relief and traditional Chinese woodcarving methods to render cold, rigid stainless steel into the shapeless softness of water. The child at the center represents the inherent goodness of people.
